Who we are: The Salvation Army Suicide Crisis Line, Education and Resource Centre is a prevention ministry demonstrating God's love by providing a 24hr Crisis Line, short-term counseling, education, practical and emotional support, while encouraging volunteer placements and co-op opportunities.

What we offer:

  • 24 hour Crisis Line Service
  • Short Term Counseling
  • Community Presentations
  • Pamphlets and general information on suicide and bereavement
  • Referrals for callers to appropriate services
  • An opportunity of volunteerism in a special service
  • Monthly support groups:
    1. SIMPLY CARING: People living with a suicidal person
    2. FEELINGS: People having suicidal thoughts
    3. SURVIVOR SUICIDE SORROW: People who have lost someone to suicide
    4. Support group for parents who have lost a child to suicide
  • We offer workshops:
    1. A 6 week self-esteem group for those 11 to 14 yrs old. (Offered 3-4 times a year).
    2. Volunteer training (Ongoing)
    3. Staff training
    4. General interest educational refresher on suicide prevention
    5. ASIST: 2 day training from Living Works
    6. Anger Management for caregivers
    7. Anger Management:
      * 6-11 years of age
      * Adults
    8. Stress Management:
      * For groups
      * Training for caregivers
    9. Opportunities for community involvement:
      * Student placements
      * Volunteering
      * Student co-op placements
