Who we are:
PsychDirect is a
public education website for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral
Neurosciences at McMaster University. It presents a wide range of
information and resources for further study on a variety of mental health
issues for both the general public and mental health professionals.
Our goals:
- Educate about
mental health issues
- Raise the profile of mental health issues
- Reduce the stigma attached to them
- Encourage early detection and early intervention
Examples of
topics covered or in progress:
- Anxiety Disorders,
Depression and Mood Disorders, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Psychiatry and
the Law (legal and psychiatric), Geriatric Psychiatry, Child Mental Health
Professionals, etc.

includes a burgeoning section for Continuing Education for Mental Health
Professionals.

being updated on a regular basis, including more information as it becomes
available from the subject specialists.
