Hours of operation: Mon-Fri: 8:30am-4:30pm

Referral Process:

  • Self-referral, referral by family rehabilitation professional or health professional
  • Completion of Request for Service application
  • Medical Status Form completed by family physician
  • Once the application is received by the BISH office the Intake Coordinator will assess it and contact the applicant

Fee: The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care provides funding for are services. When appropriate third party funding (i.e. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, auto and disability insurance) is accessed 

Accessibility: Wheelchair access to building and bathrooms

Availability: Depending on program or choice of service there may be a waiting list.

What we do: Provide community-based services to meet the needs of adults with acquired brain injury

  • Residence Services:
    • Life-long Living
    • Transitional Living
  • Community Re-Entry Services:
    • Living and life skills, academic support, community orientation and physical reactivation regimes
  • Job Placement Services:
    • Return to work assessment, training in job related skills, job coaching, resume preparation and much more!
  • Community Integration Group Services:
    • Community events, recreation pursuits, educational sessions and drop-in centre
  • Therapeutic Peer Support Groups:
    • Anger Management I & II
    • Self Esteem
    • Substance Abuse (CHOICES)
  • Access to 24 hour support
  • Family and 1:1 counseling

Clientele: Preference is given to persons residing in the Hamilton region and who are between the ages of 18 to 55.
