Dr. Valerie Taylor is currently Chief Resident in Psychiatry at McMaster University. She attended  Memorial University in Newfoundland and graduated from medical school there.  Dr. Taylor has longstanding commitments to medical education and believes that good medicine, effective learning, and collegial relationships can come together in such a way as to make most days at work pleasant, useful, and fun.

Her career thus far has included active participation in not-for-profit health organizations and holding offices in both the  Professional Association of Interns and Residents of Ontario (PAIRO) and the Canadian Association of Interns and Residents. She has won awards for her performances as a resident and as an educator.
